Atlanta -the City
Atlanta is the largest city and capital of the state of Georgia. Atlanta is the county seat of Fulton county, but part of it extends to Dekalb county. The metro Atlanta area has grown past the 14 to now include 28 counties. Quite a large area.
When I first moved to “Atlanta” fifteen years ago from the small town of LaGrange, I knew I was going to the big city. When everyone said where do you live, I said “Atlanta“, when actually, I lived in Conyers, 20 miles east of downtown Atlanta. So to my friends and I, the entire metro area was Atlanta. It was odd to me when I told others that lived in the metro area I lived in Atlanta, they would all ask “inside the perimeter or outside?” Of course, I said, “outside”. “Well, you don’t live in Atlanta then, you live in Conyers“. It all seemed like the big city to me.
Amazingly, the metro area has grown so much in the past 15 years. I still live in Conyers but claim all of Atlanta as my home. It is a wonderful place to live with many opportunities for business, education, culture and entertainment. Join me in living in “Atlanta“.
