A house may be staged to perfection, but it if doesn’t smell nice a buyer won’t walk in.
- Pet smells-While most people love pets, they are very sensitive to pet smells. Even if a seller has a specific room for their pets, the smell will spread to other rooms. Flooring will have to be removed to get rid of the smell.
- Mold and mildew-If a house has been closed up for some time, the smell of mold and mildew will be prevalent. It is mostly found in damp areas as bathrooms, kitchen and utility rooms. Remove all mold and air out the home, keeping windows open for a few days.
- Once odors are removed, it is nice to add a pleasant smell, by baking bread, cookies, or cooking spices on the stove. Just don’t make it over-powering.
